EDITORIAL:
SUCCESS
We all want success in our lives and
why not, we all deserve it. Nobody’s life intended for failure, we were all
meant to achieve the kind of success that is right for us as individuals,
anything less would be a betrayal of our deepest calling.
Many young people find themselves
disoriented and confused. Others know what they would like to do with their
lives,but don’t know how to get there. Whichever the case maybe, there is a
need for orientation and guidance. This can be found through parents, teachers,
and close friends that we trust.
In our college students have their
own desire in life and they study hard to obtain i t. They compete with
others to measure their weakneses and to staighten their personal ability. They
try their best and they don’t waste their time in studying to commit higher
grades in class. Some of them have a great potential in grabbing an opportunity
to be a Dean’s Lister. They get different scholarship that they help them in
continueng their schooling. Each of us can be one of them.
Settling for less than our own
personal forms of success is a recipe for unhappiness and regret. Just like
Johann Wolfang Von Goethe once said “The
man who was born with a talent which he was meant to use finds his greatest
happiness in using it.” Success is inevitable when we use our talents
constructively. We are all called to excellence, to explore it, to create it
and to experience it. We all have our talents that we are here to discover to
develop and to deploy into the world for the good of others as well as
ourselves. This is a true gift lavished upon all of us. The wisest people who
have ever lived have seen that true success is not just the result of luck or
accident, genuine excellence is no fluke. Genuine excellence and success is the
outcome of attitude, talent, skill and hard work.
Since success never comes to us
easily, we have to work hard in order to be successful. When we consider many
famous people in the world, we can see clearly that they have the same
characteristics that help them to be successful. They are successful because
they always learn a lot of new things, therefore that’s a very essential skill
that we should to learn, are the ability to learn new things because the world
always changes and knowledge is endless.
In studying, students need more than
one skill in order to be successful. An ability to learn means that we know how
to study other skills effectively because skills are needed for success.
Consequently, people should be smart, organized and active to study new skills
well.
In addition, said that nobody can
swim twice in the same river, because our world always changes. These changes
bring us a lot of new things, as a result, we must learn about them in order to
work better. In other words, if we stop studying or lock the ability to learn,
we will lose a lot of significant information, and we will miss some chances to
become successful.
Moreover, having self confidence in
ourselves is an important key to personal and professional success. As Mark Twain
said “Keep away from people who try to
belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that. The really great make you
feel that you too can become great.” Positive people help yourself
confidence because they tend to see the potential in you – even when you might
not see it in yourself. On the other hand negative people will hinder your self
confidence because they tend to reinforce yourself doubt and negative beliefs
about yourself.
Too often the standard of success in
our world are measured by the education we have attained, the amount of money
we have in the bank, by how big a house we live in or how much material
possessions we own.
It is not wrong to have as good
education, a good job and wealth. But in the long run, it is how we treat
others and what we do with our education and our money that people will
remember long after were gone. We can take nothing with us when we die. What
will remain is the good we have done for others. True success can only be
measured at the end of our lives in spiritual terms. We are the one who makes
our own success in life. It is in our hand that we are the one who makes it
possible. As we graduate and we receive the diploma we are very proud to say
that we already success in studying in college. Because it is our honor and
witness that we as a student was ready to face the next path of our life and
that is our future.
